After a digital link has been programmed in the Digital Links form, the ISDN Protocol form is used to program the protocol type and variant for the links.
Use this form when performing the following tasks:
CAUTION: You can select the outgoing numbering plans for Euro ISDN Standard trunk variants that are provided by the embedded PRI/ BRI functionality in the ISDN Outgoing Numbers form. If you change the protocol variant in the ISDN Protocol form, the programming detail in the ISDN Outgoing Numbers form will be deleted.
For EX Controller, the Calling Name Delivery is configured on the NI2 trunks by executing the NI2 default configuration file from the Gateway Configuration Scripts form.
Parameter |
Description |
Default Value |
Controller Module |
System-generated, protected field. Identifies the module position (1-4) in the controller. |
|
Port |
System-generated, protected field. Identifies the port (1 or 2) in the module. |
|
Link Number |
System-generated, protected field. |
|
Interface Type |
System-generated, protected field. Indicates T1, E1, or Basic Rate Interface. |
|
Protocol |
The ISDN protocol the link uses. Options available vary depending on interface type. See Protocol Type and Variants for more information. |
Blank |
Protocol Variant |
The ISDN protocol variant the link uses. Options available vary depending on interface type and protocol. See Protocol Type and Variants for more information. |
Blank |
Network side/Q.SIG Master |
True or False. Check the box to change to True. |
False |
Enbloc |
True or False. Check the box to change to True. Applicable for BRI, QSIG or EURO protocols. |
False |
Enable Unknown TON/NP |
True or False. Check the box to change to True. This option is only available when NI-2 protocol variant is selected. When checked, this option modifies the NI-2 protocol to send "unknown/unknown" as the Type of Number (TON)/Numbering Plan (NP) in the Called Party Number Identifier of an outgoing call. |
False |
Bus Type |
"S" (subscriber) or "T" (trunk). BRI only. |
T (trunk) |
Point-to-Multi-Point |
True or False. Check the box to change to True. BRI only. |
False |
Manual TEI |
True or False. Check the box to change to True. BRI only. |
False |
TEI Value1 |
Integer (0-63). Terminal Endpoint ID. Used to set a TEI value when Manual TEI is true. BRI only. |
0 |
TEI Value2 |
Integer (0-63). Terminal Endpoint ID. Used to set a TEI value when Manual TEI is true. BRI only. |
0 |
Enable NI2 Service Messages |
True or False. Applicable to N1-2 protocol only. Used to enable handling of service messages on NI-2 trunks. |
False |
Send NI2 Outgoing Name |
True or False. Checked box indicates True. Used to send the calling name to the PSTN on NI-2 variant PRI trunks. |
False |
Replace External CLID |
True or False. Checked box indicates True. When checked, any inbound PRI call that is call forwarded to an external destination over PRI will use the forwarded station's number not the calling party's number for CPN substitution or the default CPN if it not in the CPN substitution form. |
False |
Euro ISDN Only |
||
T310 Timer |
Integer (10-600). Call proceeding timer. Used to extend the timer for Euro ISDN only. |
40 |
T304 Timer |
Integer (1-900). Inter-digit timer. Used to extend the timer for Euro ISDN only. |
30 |
Replace Incoming CgPN with Original Dialed Number |
Enable this option to replace the called party number (CgPN) information supplied by the telco in the call setup message with the original dialed number (ODN). Applies to E1 PRI (ETSI protocol v1.2) trunks only. The ODN is the number that a caller dials to reach the destination they are calling. Because calls might be forwarded one or more times, the ODN might not be the actual number of the line that is answered when the call is completed. This option controls whether the number presented to the called party is the ODN (option ENABLED) or the final directory number used to extend the call (option DISABLED). NOTE: In a resilient E1 trunk installation both the primary and secondary controller must be upgraded to MCD 5.0 SP1 to ensure proper call routing during a failover. |
Disabled |
Q.SIG Only |
||
Fake Answer Supervision |
True or False. Checked box indicates True. Applicable for QSIG only. |
True |
Sequential Channel Numbering |
True or False. Check the box to change to True when channels for E1 QSIG need to be numbered consecutively. |
False |
Enable Prefix Insertion |
Check the box to enable prefix insertion on QSIG trunks. See QSIG Prefix Modification for details. |
